Safety Stewards

- Keeping OLI Safe -

Our Safety Stewards are a new leadership role which the children have been very keen to develop.

They meet with Ms Mayle - our Designated Safeguarding Lead - and together they look at how they can help OLI to be a really safe community. Their duties vary but typically involve...

Collaborating: the stewards have the responsibility of sharing important safety messages from their meetings with their classes.

Monitoring Safety: they keep an eye on our school environment to ensure it is safe for all.

Sharing Safety Rules: they have the special job of helping children to know how they can talk to a trusted adult – sharing the message, ‘ SPEAK OUT and TELL SOMEONE.’

Leading Safety Initiatives: they are looking forward to helping in assemblies and creating posters to support our safety messages. 

Setting a Positive Example: they model safe behaviour for other children.
