Parent Consultations

Parent consultations (often called parent-teacher conferences or parents' evenings) are a vital part of the educational process, primarily serving to establish a partnership between home and school to support the child's learning and well-being.

The main reasons for holding these consultations are:

To Share Academic Progress: Teachers provide parents with a comprehensive overview of the child's academic performance, including:

Their strengths and successes in various subjects.

Areas for development or where they may need extra support.
Their overall progress and engagement in the classroom.

To Foster Two-Way Communication: It's an opportunity for teachers and parents to exchange valuable information:

Teachers gain insights into the child's learning style, interests, behaviour, and any factors at home that might be affecting their school life.

Parents gain a deeper understanding of the curriculum, school expectations, and classroom behaviour.

To Collaborate and Set Goals: Parents and teachers can work together to:

Develop a strategy or action plan for the child's success.

Set academic and behavioural goals for the student.

Discuss ways for the parent to support their child's learning at home.
