- Building the Future: Our LEGO Robotics Partnership -

We are thrilled to share our exciting partnership with Beyond Blocks UK, bringing the world of LEGO robotics to OLI! This innovative collaboration empowers our young learners to explore the exciting intersection of engineering, design, and computer programming, all through the joy of LEGO.

At OLI, Beyond Blocks provides curriculum-aligned LEGO Robotics activities that combine LEGO building with computer science to create cross-curricular lessons. By building LEGO models with motors and sensors that come alive through programming, we encourage children to be creative while building resilience and confidence in their learning.

We currently deliver lessons to Key Stage 2, and the children have built flood defence systems, Venus fly traps, giraffes and many more models, learning about much more than computer science along the way.

The sessions at OLI are delivered by Andy Hoang: the award-winning owner of Beyond Blocks and a qualified science teacher and LEGO fan, who set up the company in 2021 to inspire young people to take an active interest in engineering and computer science. Andy has appeared in commercials for LEGO and regularly travels the country as a Key Volunteer for FIRST LEGO League, run by the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
